North Central Surgical Center has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Certification in Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization's commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.
The Joint Commission reviewer evaluated compliance with Advanced Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement standards spanning several areas including patient involvement in decision making, full-continuum care coordination, performance measurement, patient safety and emergency management.
The Joint Commission's standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance.
This evidence-based program includes pre-surgery optimization for patient selection and medical condition management, as well as the application of state-of-the-art techniques in surgical anesthesia for combined efforts in delivery of safe, high quality direct patient care.
