Nominate a Nurse for a DAISY Award
The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died from complications of ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they were deeply touched not only the immense clinical skill but also the enormous compassion shown to Pat and his family by his nurses. When Pat died, they felt compelled to say, "thank you!" to nurses in a very personal way. So they created DAISY, an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System.
The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses honors and celebrates the compassionate care nurses provide every day through ongoing recognition presentations among recipients' peers.
North Central Surgical participates in this recognition program and awards 1 nurse per quarter with the DAISY award.
